I am currently a sophomore, but I’m graduating at the end of next year (a year early). I was an analytics intern the summer after my freshman year and worked remotely for the company during the year as well. This summer I will be an IT intern at a larger company, yet I’ll still be doing more analytics work than anything else. I have a business analytics minor that I’m thinking of dropping (due to an extra $600 I’d need to receive the minor, not to mention the extra course load). Since I will graduate with experience within the business analytics sector, do you think it will affect me negatively to drop my minor?
I’ve never heard of any hiring decision being made because a candidate has a certain minor. You can highlight the work you did during your intern experience as well as the coursework you have taken in the area on your resume and you should be fine.
