Will Federal Verification affect ED results

I just realized that i’ve been selected for federal verification! My ED results come out tomorrow and I won’t have enough time to submit the files since my fathers verification is international and my mothers is US. Will this affect my ED results? Like I get rejected or deferred for not having submitted these documents…

Also for the verification, as I mentioned, my dad isn’t a US citizen but my mom is. So how would I verify my parents tax returns? I’ve already submitted all that I could find of my dad’s income stuff that were in English, including his tax return, salary and interest stuff!

If the school is need blind, it shouldn’t affect your acceptance, but you may not get financial aid information immediately. If the school is need award, it may delay acceptance.

For verification, you send the documents they ask for. Tax returns/transcripts, W2s. If you don’t have something, ask the school what it would like you to submit.

If the school is need blind and you are a US citizen/permanent resident, your having your verification done will not accept your admissions. It will affect your receiving your financial aid package. If you are rejected, it will not be because of your financial aid forms

If you are an international student and the school is not need blind, your not having your paperwork completed and on time could affect your admissions. BUt Even then the international pool is so competitive, you cannot base a rejection solely on your not having your FA paperwork completed

should I wait until my ED results to come out tomorrow to look up my verification stuff? I’m a US citizen living abroad applying ED.

Also I’ve already submitted all the 1040s, W2s and 1099… So what else do I need to submit? @sybbie719 @twoinanddone

If you were selected for verification, the school will tell you what they want. They may have everything and just need to verify it. WE don’t know what they want because every school wants different things.

@dattitude

What has your ED college requested from you in terms of verification materials? Anything?

@thumper1 here is the link for required verification stuff http://finaid.cornell.edu/policies/federal-verification-what-it-means-for-you

but I emailed the financial aid ppl for my dad’s situation. and they said “Your father will need to complete a Tax Non-filing form and send proof of his earnings in English to IDOC.” what does that mean? is it the nontaxer’s filers requirements on the bottom of the link?

That means that your financial aid is incomplete.
if your dad does not comply and send in the information, then you will not receive any financial aid.
