<p>So I go to the #1 public high school in my state(MD). I’m estimating we sent around 50+ students to top 25 schools in our Class of 2012. Basically im a worried URM(Nigerian) and I currently have a 3.1 UWGPA(big upward trend) with hopefully around an 1800+ in the SAT. I don’t know for sure because we don’t rank but i’m going to say i’m roughly in the top 50% of our grade. I’m not planning to apply to any ivies or anything (maybe 1 or 2 top 25s as reaches) but I am planning to apply to Top 50 schools such as UMD, OSU, PSU, Umiami etc. So anyway… Will going to a competitive school like mine help or hurt my chances???</p>
