I’m planning on applying to grad school in the next year, and in most of the programs I’m applying to, it asks “Have you ever been found of a disciplinary or academic violation that has resulted in expulsion, suspension, or probation?”
My junior year of college, I was really dumb and smoked weed on campus. This was legal in my state (I was 21 in a weed-friendly state), but it went against campus policy. I had to have a conduct hearing and ended up writing an essay about the dangers of marijuana. The case closed and doesn’t show up on my transcript. Would I have to report this to grad schools? Technically it didn’t result in me being put on probation (since the only thing that happened was that I had to write an essay), so I’m tempted to click no.
