<p>Sorry for the long title. </p>
<p>Anyway, I was wondering if having something like 14 credits at Cornell, that I’ll have gained during summers and during school, will help me to get accepted when I apply as a senior. I know many programs like these are considered “pay to get in”, but they’re credit bearing courses that are available to undergrads, and obviously demonstrate my interest in the school. </p>

<p>Bumping after 15 minutes is ridiculous. Give it 24 hours, then bump if no takers.</p>
<p>I will take a stab at this, though. I think it only makes a difference if there is some demonstration that you are taking the courses to move beyond what your high school environment offers or to deepen your understanding in a given area. It is more about what you learned and how it expands your “story” as an applicant than it is about earning credits. Although if you are going to take courses for credit, of course they like it if you earned "A"s in them.</p>
<p>You are correct that “paid to get in” courses are pretty much not worth a lot in admissions, especially if admissions is not competitive. It would probably give you something to talk about in your “Why Cornell” essay, though. And if you happen to have been so fantastic that you could get a recommendation from a faculty member, then I suppose it might help. Other than that, not much.</p>
<p>I have never seen this addressed, but I wonder if colleges frown on too many credits. If they accept a lot of those credits, then you may only attend for 3 years, which is less revenue from you (especially if you are a full pay student). I have never seen a thread on this, although there might be one. And it may not even be a valid speculation on my part.</p>
