Please give me an honest evaluation…any input would be appreciated!!

bro, none of us are on the admissions committee. you do realize what these people on CC are doing right? They just google the range of accepted students and see if you’re in the 25%-75% mark. While that judgement is better than a blind guess, it doesnt even come close to a reasonable analysis of your chances. But, to be a hypocrite and chance you anyway, i’de say you are in the running, but barely. Impress them alot with the subjective parts of your app, essays and whatnot.

good luck to ya, and maybe i’ll see you at U.T.

You know what, your right, we know nothing. He is OOS, non-minority, a 28 on his ACT and SAT which is not much better, mediocre ECs, medicore course load, probably not in the top 5% of his class based on his scores. He wouldn’t get into the business school instate, much less OOS. No chance, you won’t see him at UT.

Sorry dude, no offense. I just don’t like people giving other people false hope.

Hey, he asked for a chance and we gave him our input. And he wanted us to be honest. But hey, you’re right, we’re not the admission committee so he should just wait for their response.

oh crap. i misread, i thought your 3.7 W was your UW gpa. that plus 580 writing = baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad. yeah, now that i know that; i doubt you’ve got it. get that writing score above 650 and transfer is a possibility.

UT does not care about the writing score from everything I’ve heard.

Also, to the guy talking about the admissions committee: UT does not have the traditional college idea of an “admissions committee” agonizing over which kids to take because of their personalities. They read your essay and give it a numerical score. They read your resume and give it a numerical score. This takes a grand total of about 15 minutes. Then they take all the numbers they have and plug them into a formula, and if you have a good enough score you get in.

SAT isn’t terrible but for out-of-state isn’t gonna cut it. You haven’t given us a class rank, which makes it next-to-impossible to give you a good opinion. But if you aren’t in the top couple of percent, there’s just no way you will get in to McCombs. You may have a shot at Liberal Arts or Undergraduate Studies, but I wouldn’t get your hopes up.

Your best chance to get in to UT is to move to some crappy Texas high school and try to get in off of the top ten law.
