Will I be able to afford HCC and if so how do I get started?

I’ve made the decision to attend a community college (probably for 2 years) because after research I think it’s a better fit for me as someone interested in photography, fashion design, and makeup. I also know i definitely cannot afford a 4 year college right now. My parents already don’t have a bunch of money, my mom literally just lost her job, and I’m still searching for one. I’m thinking about trying out HCC Central Campus but I would like to know if I’m going to be able to afford classes there. I’ve already filled out FAFSA and I have an EFC OF 0. I plan on getting a job (I’ve been searching). But i would like some advice or info from some of you all who know more than I do. I’m new to this whole college thing and I just want to get in school and further my education but it seems like everything is soo expensive these days.

It commonly takes a long time for a cc to process a financial aid application. My advice would be to apply for admittance to HCC and apply for financial aid. You will then know how much aid you are eligible to receive. If you don’t choose to enroll, you will only be out $25-$50 in application fees.
