I live in California, I go to a top public high school. Currently a junior. 4.17 GPA freshman year, 4.17 1st semester of sophomore, 4.5 gpa second semester, 4 honors classes sophomore year, 2 honors freshman year (weighted). I’m taking 3 AP classes, 2 honors, and journalism in junior year. I haven’t taken the ACT/SAT so I know that will make it much harder to determine but assuming I get a 31+ on my ACT and 2000 on my SAT (which are my goals) along with debate, key club, a leadership program (dont want to say the name but its a big one), and about to join eco club. (this is just for highschool). I also am a black belt, and did “People to People” in middle school. I have 750 volunteer hours at my animal shelter (Its cuz I fostered a dog so I got 24 hrs a day (will they know?)) and I’m volunteering at a Boys and Girls Club (getting 4+ volunteer hours a week from it, and I plan to do it through my senior year and during summer). I’m in the process of volunteering at the hospital as well, I plan to become a dentist or orthodontist. Do you guys know how my chances are? Also, thanks VERY much ahead of time.

GPA seems to be on track. Make your SAT goal 2100+ to be more comfortable with your chances. Your volunteer hours are plentiful, but make sure you present it in a cohesive manner as opposed to a hodgepodge of activities thrown onto an application. The application probably asks how many hours a week, and how many total hours you put into an activity, so if you put 168 hours a week for the animal shelter, they can calculate it to be 24 hours a day.

Thanks man.
