I am so confused and lost as to where to apply to college. I’m an african american, female. I have a 3.4gpa but I recently failed 2nd semester physiology( i tried really hard but I failed almost every test even with a tutor), I also got a 29 on the ACT. I’m really interested in getting into the University of San Francisco, but I’m not sure I’ll get in since I failed physiology. I don’t know what other schools I should apply to within California.

well, some schools appriciate that you showed that you tried (with the tutor).

I am unsure on what the admission requirements are for gpa and act (i looked on their site and found nothing).

For some schools, i do know however, that they will accept a 3.0+ gpa and a 22+ ACT.

Your best bet would be to call the admissions office and ask them.

Discuss things with your HS guidance counselor- make the appointment as soon as school begins. S/he knows you, your school and common options for your ethnic status and region. You will be getting the GC from that person so it is good for them to get to know you better as well.

thank you for the advice, i will call the admissions office and ask.

btw- omitted the word “recommendation” after GC, sorry.
