Will I be okay with this....?

Do you think I will survive this???
A question to all of you…I think I’ll get some bad recs from teachers because, idk, i just don’t get along with many people ;( Do you think this will will affeect me negatively??? I mean, they won’t be that bad, but i’m sure they won’t say “best of career,” or even “best of year.” which you absolutely need…

If you are applying to the top universities, then yes it will hurt you. Even if you are, as long as your teachers don’t write something blatantly negative about you you then you should still be able to get in to a good school so long as the rest of your application is strong enough to balance it. I am assuming that by bad rec you mean a plain, average letter of rec.

Your not getting along with teachers will hurt you when it comes to the very top private universities, which have so many highly qualified applicants with strong scores, grades, that the colleges look closely at other factors.

It’s not just that teachers won’t rate you at the top of various categories, but teachers who dislike you probably won’t bother to put in the extra effort that it takes to write a recommendation with the kind of telling details that make an applicant stand out in admission in a good way. If you have an attitude problem, the teachers may include telling details that reflect that, and top colleges probably aren’t interested in students who can’t get along with teachers.

Most public universities care more about GPAs and test scores and less about recommendations – some don’t even require recommendations!
