<p>Some college application essays I’ve read in books are about 800 words long, but they are good. So my advice is that if its KICKASS, then its ok. If its only average then its not ok.</p>

<p>for the commapp I think that’s too long. I’ve heard you really should go over 70 words. It’s not that they’re counting words, but I think 650 will stick out, and I’ve “heard” that that automatically starts them with a bad impression :)</p>

<p>p. 217 essay, for example is supposed to be one page long! Why Penn should not be any longer than that for sure. I read somewhere on this board that at an information session it was stated that longer is somewhat frowned upon. Also, smaller fonts get the same negative reaction. !2 font, Times New Roman, decent margins of at least an inch to an inch and a half maximum!</p>
