GPA as a Junior: 3.95 (unweighted)
SAT: 2290
ACT: 28

Clubs:
National Honor Society
California Scholarship Federation
Key Club
Asian Club

Community Service Hours:
1010

AP Classes taken:
5 passed AP exam with all 4 and one 3

Is that GPA 3.95 unweighted or weighted? If it’s unweighted then your GPA+SAT would make your chances at Cal and UCLA very strong.

Make sure you don’t send in your ACT.

Most likely UCLA and UCB.

Not sure about Stanford.

Do you have anything that makes you stand out for Stanford?

^ lol, why would he need anything that makes him stand out to get into stanford lol. IMO getting into stanford is just random ( and I’m not saying this because i was rejected, I didnt even apply) My school is VERY competitive and a lot of brilliant kids with high SAT/ACT scores and perfect grades applied and no one got in. The only person who got in was a girl who had no EC’s. she wasnt as qualified as many of the people who applied from my school, but my friends and I think that she got in because she comes from a “unique” background.

“why would he need anything that makes him stand out to get into stanford lol.”

because…

"The only person who got in was a girl who had no EC’s…I think that she got in because she comes from a “unique” background. "

Stanford admission is indeed…unique, not sure if that is a good thing or not.

If you claim yourself you lived in a Buddist monastery or went to South Pole, your chances might go up.

I agree that Stanford admission is… unpredictable.

My school’s valedictorian was accepted at Harvard, yet denied at Stanford. Maybe he had too many ECs and not enough of an “unique background.”

OP:

Stanford: no
Berkeley: 50/50
UCLA: 1 in 3 chance

and the other posts are correct, be unique aka exceptional and Stanford might notice you.

Your stats seem on par for Berkeley and UCLA, but lacking in the hooks for Stanford. Be sure to have a few safeties.

Your clubs seem very generic, but I the fact that you have 1010 community service hours caught my eye. Is there anything particular about those hours? Why did you do them? You better have a really good reason in your essays or else your chances are relatively low.
