Will I get rescinded by UCSB and UCD? What should I do??

I just got an F in 2015 Sping for my Linear Algebra class. This class is the requirement for the major I am admitted at UCSB (Pre Financial Mathematics and Statistics). But it is not the requirement of UCD (Mathematics). I like UCSB more than UCD. I contacted with UCSB, they said that they can only give me an answer by the end of next week. And UCD has not replied me yet. But the deadline of accepting offer is is coming on 6.1. If I cannot get exact reply from these two schools, what should I do? Which school should I choose?
And I am also on the waitlist of UCSD. And the major is Applied Math. I am worried that even if I get admitted to UCSD. They will cancel the admission once they know that I have an F.
Help me …

When you contacted both schools, did you offer to retake the class this summer? This may be a good option to retain your admission, unfortunately, only guesses can be made about your situation. You will have to wait and see with the schools say. Good Luck.

Sorry to be harsh, but an F will probably rescind your acceptance. Make sure you submit the update to all schools ASAP (including UCSD).

However, I second the above opinion to offer to retake the class in the summer. That may save you, and give the UCs a reason to keep you.

As to which school to choose, that is up to you.

An F in a major requirement, or any F for that matter, is not good. Prepare for a rescind. Although my experience is limited, I don’t know if I’ve ever seen an F grade make it through. If you don’t make it, I agree with luckie. Retake in summer and reapply next year. If you got in this year you’ll probably get in next year.

Thank you so much! I have not contacted with UCSD yet. I thought I should contact them after the result for waitlist comes out…

Good luck, and please let us know how it goes!

@Gumbymom I have already told them that I am willing to retake the class in the summer. But no one is going to give me an acurate answer now…

@lindyk8 Hope that I do not need to wait until next year…

@luckie1367 Thank you so much for helping!

@laowang, if you do have to reapply, it’s not the end of the world. The process starts in November (just 6 mo from now).,
