<p>Hello, Im a horrible student with a 75% out of 100% average which i think is around 2.0 GPA, i am also behind in science and language by one year. I have a few ec’s like 2yrs of martial arts, and like only 1 month of teaching first graders ( which i don’t think matters ) If i do early descion very little months on the community service of teaching but if i do regular i should have about 6 months. I did nothing speical all my H.S Years and i just realized now i can’t get into colleges. BUt do you think i have any chance of Stony Brook at all? maybe that EOP program? because my family is korean and im a first generation american. We have 4 people in our family and our income is less than 30,000. But i don’t know is EOP for the mentally challenged people, or normal people who never did so good?</p>
<p>I think you should go to Suffolk Community College and get really good grades. If you do Stony Brook will be glad to have you. Infact there are kids who went to SCC and then went to Harvard. I also know kids that didn’t do well at SCC and then were rejected from Stony Brook. Stony Brook is a good school - you need to show them that you will apply yourself and not just slide by. EC’s and family background won’t change that.</p>
<p>Same here…if your passion/desire is to attend college and be the first in your family to do so, then community college would be they way to go. Do it while you are still young!</p>
