THANK YOU FOR YOU FEEDBACK!!!

I can understand that you may be nervous and want the validation, but I think you know as well as any of us that you have everything going for you. Don’t sweat it. If I were a betting man, I’d certainly take 3 or 4 to one odds on your getting in.

The thing about Stanford, though, is that you can never know from just stats. It’s the essays that make or break you. Put a lot of thought into them, hone them until they are perfect, and then don’t worry about it. If they think you’re a good fit, they’ll take you. If not, that’s life. But you’ve done everything you need to do.

i agree. i think it’s my essays that won it for me. you have great stats, but so will many other applicants. so your stats are fine and if it was soley based on that you’d be in. so just work on your essays a lot and make YOU shine through. the adcom’s know you are a great student from your stats, so don’t bore them by repeating the same stuff in your essay. make your essay unique to you.

Thanks for your comments. Do you think if i put “politician” as a future career aspiration it woudl hurt/help me?

hello collegecanwait!
thats a really awesome resume… theres just one thing though…
i see that you have chosen to take calc ab instead of bc - if your school offers bc i highly suggest you take it: the hard part only comes at the end of the year and taking bc would show stanford that you can not only speak but derive as well - which would certainly boost your app.

that’s just my two cents

best of luck collegecanwait!

as well, i was wondering why you chose to apply to stanford above any of the other ivies?

What does that mean? Was this campaign full of high school kids or adults?

everything looks good :)

what do you mean by :

“had 2 editorials on cnn”, because this could possibly be something very unique and advantageous

He chose to apply to Stanford over the Ivies because he is one of the enlightened few that know Stanford is actually better, in every respect.

Are you applying as international? Do you need fin. aid?

I dont need any fin. aid but i am an american citizen so its need blind. As I understand it, stanford decides your admission councellor based upon your school location, so would have an international councellor, though i am technically a domestic applicant. The BC thing was a tough choice for me. It was between that and not taking Art History AP. do you think it is worth not taking art hist to have bc?

to respond to cohen, I like the fact that i will have a great time at stanford above just an academic free for all. Also my mom is a legacy and is really pushing it. Plus, we all know that its “west coast, best coast”.

If you get in, and get a good score on BC, you’ll get credit for it (unlike Art history).

If you get a 5 on AB you will get the exact same credit as getting a 4 or 5 on BC. If you think you will get a 5, then don’t worry about it.

do you think stanford will care either way in admissions. ESP. because i am totally humanities/social sciences

I don’t think taking AB or BC will make that much of a difference. Take whatever you feel is the right pace for you.

run4fun: i agree! but sadly, i might not even be able to get into this helleva good sch stanford is:(

No one can ever be cetain, but from what i know you’ve got a very good chance. Impressive resume and a legacy. Make sure you get good recs and have an interesting essay and you’re in.

Paul: good recs and interesting essay and she has a really good shot.
