I am a hard of hearing rising senior in Texas. Fortunately, there is a Deaf-Blind Waiver in Texas that waives tuition at any public school in the state. I plan to use this at UT Austin, which is great. But I was wondering if getting this waiver meant I would be automatically excluded from any consideration for merit scholarships or financial aid. Does anyone know anything about that?

I’m pretty sure you would still get aid just because that would be separate from FAFSA.

The only thing it would exclude you from is scholarships that are specifically for tuition. A lot of school’s scholarships are, but others are not. You would still be eligible to complete FAFSA and get need based aid if eligible based on your financial situation.
