<p>Maybe try to reduce it to every other week and gradually to once every month, and then just every now and then, over time. They will eventually have to let you go, only child or not.</p>
<p>What happens a lot is the student comes home every weekend for the first few weeks, then slowly starts coming less frequently as time goes on.</p>

That is a pretty good solution … and as another poster said; after parents weekend or Thanksgiving shoot for every other Sunday and promise to call on the Sundays you do not go home … and then after winter break try to get to once a month. Good luck!</p>
