With a 1990, it will be a high reach.

If you have not taken SATI, ACT, and still need to take more SATII, you do not have enough for early action and will cut it really closed to have scores for regular decision next fall. Basically, you now have one and only one chance to take the tests to have scores for your college application.

I think I’ll just focus on the ACT

No offense, but if you’re Chinese, why are in the black history club? It is actually very fascinating, but since I’m not African American, I don’t see why I would join. I’d feel distinctly out of place- I’m half-Chinese and I don’t feel comfortable among lots of Chinese people nor do I take great lengths to discover my Chinese heritage.

Maybe I’m mistaken, but it just seems like blatant resume padding to me. But either way MIT only makes you list your five most important ECs, not a laundry list of them.

If i were you’d I’d save the application fee because admission with your stats is unlikely. They’re decent stats, just not MIT level stats.

@kemcab, just speaking personally, I’m usually impressed by people who take an interest in race/ethnicity issues outside their own group, if their general approach is open and considerate.

I agree. It is admirable. I’m not saying that he’s not, but knowing a LOT of people who just participate in clubs solely to pad the resume, it drives me to suspicion sometimes.
