<p>I understand that many competitive schools require the writing test on the ACT if you take it. I took a test with writing in April, and did fairly well on the writing part. However, I also took a state-wide test today, that did not include the essay portion. Will the schools that require the essay still take this score that doesn’t have the essay even though I have a previous test with an essay?</p>

<p>No, it’s just that I have this mandatory test which has no writing. Obviously I want to do better, but if the school doesn’t accept it, then I’ll have to take it again, and basically its an ACT attempt that goes to waste. Which is not good…</p>
