Will leaving off 9th grade for EC hurt chances?

I noticed on the Common App print-out that my daughter didn’t check off her vocal music participation for 9th grade. When I asked her, she said that she was referring to Choir and Jazz Ensemble (three years) in that space and didn’t want to type in Women’s Chorus, as well. The other two groups are auditioned and this is where most of her music ECs come from. On the other hand, under Awards in the same area, she mentioned her Outstanding Vocalist award and that was given to her in 9th grade when she was in Women’s Chorus. Arrrghh. The only reason I’m concerned, is if this is her passion (which it is), wouldn’t it look better if she participated ALL four years of high school? After all, she did! It just so happens the first year she didn’t have to audition for the group. I wish I had caught this before she submitted it. I skimmed over her app. before she printed it out.

Am I fretting for nothing?

most likely, it won’t make or break her

9th grade doesn’t matter a lot except for maybe grades.

I was just under the impression that it’s better to have been involved all four years with one’s “passion EC” ( which she was and neglected to report). Oh well. No sleep being lost. In fact, she hasn’t even given it a thought. Thanks.
