Will legacy hurt me?

So, one of my parents went to Penn and I live in the Philly area. I’ve applied regular decision and was wondering if being legacy hurts me since I didn’t apply ED. Any takers?

Probably won’t hurt, may even help a smidge, most likely won’t really matter one way or another.

Legacy will never hurt you at any school. At Penn, it doesn’t help unless you apply ED.

i mean, they say that. but it certainly helps regardless. if your parents have reliably donated any money, you have an increased shot. also, you probably have greater insights about Penn than fellow applicants, perhaps because of visits with your parents or hearing them talk about it, and that will show on your application.
