Will major change look at courseload?

Sorry for the weird title, but that’s how I summarized it in my head.

A while ago, I made a post about two differing class series that I was debating taking in my path to transferring majors. Now, after some research, I have found out the current series I am taking is likened to the honors version of the easier series. So, when applying to switch majors, are the difficulty levels of certain classes taken into account?

In my case, the class series I am taking is described to be similar to the honors class for the pre-requisite series. If I manage to do well in my current series, will this boost my chances of getting into my new major?

(Sorry for the confusing wording. I’m having trouble understanding what I’m saying- and I’m the one asking)

That’s going to depend on your school. Every school (and department and major) does things differently. For what it’s worth, where I went to school they just considered GPA in the required prerequisite courses and then went down the list until all the available spots were full. It didn’t matter what version of what course you took. Your school might be different. The only way to know is to ask the department you’re trying to transfer into.
