Will Math-centered ECs but Medical interest hurt?

It seems that in retrospect, my extracurricular activies revolves around math instead of my intended major (medical). Will it hinder my chances into acceptance? Do I need to state what I plan to major in? Shoul I use my math background as an emphasis to my application, and If I do will it hurt my premed acceptance chances? Thanks in advance.

I doubt it will hurt at all. None of my ECs were in my intended major. I don’t think Brown (or any college) expects complete focus on one area, particularly in high school. At any rate, at the info session at Brown the admissions officer said that since Brown lets you take whatever you want, they like to see students who have taken a lot of variety in high school, so they have a good base coming into Brown, where they might never take math or science again.

It won’t hurt at all… many of my ECs were math-based and I got in, and there wasn’t necessarily a huge correlation to my intended major either.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
What are you majoring in?

I am not attending Brown but I think I had my intended major as Econ or East Asian Studies. I’m trying for a dual degree from Wharton and the College at Penn.

As long as they are good ECs, it won’t hurt you. Virtually none of my ECs were in my intended fields of study, and I don’t think they are for most people, either.

apart frommysummer internship and ONE program im in, none of the related to my intended major of engineering. they just want to see thatyou enjoyed them i geuss
