Will my chances for admission be lower if I apply EA?

Incoming senior
3.81 GPA (GATech calculated)

Taking the SAT in Oct. (hopefully above a 2,000)
SAT2’s in November (hopefully in the 700-800 range)

I’m not going to submit any AP scores, because I have gotten 3’s on the three that I have taken. I’ve taken 4 AP classes fresh-junior yr.
Rising GPA trend. I had a 4.0 UW and 4.48 junior year. I had all academic classes (honors/ap available at my school.)
I’m taking 3 AP’s my senior year and honors physics.

Anyone? Bump10char

I don’t think it hurts your chances at all. What I have seen is that they may defer you to regular decision.

Applying early will not help or hinder your chances.

Your GPA seems good, but I might be worried that you haven’t taken any of your standardized tests until now. If you had taken it once over the summer or at the end of your junior year, you could have taken it another time to improve your super-score (summation of highest scores from each section). Now you’ll most likely be stuck with whichever score you get.

I saw your hours of shadowing a doctor, which major are you planning on applying for, and I’m guessing you’ll be a pre-med student?

I made the mistake of not taking the May SAT and the June SAT 2s. I’m planning to take the SAT this October, and the SAT2’s in November. I’m planning to take the Bio and Math 1 test. I understand the Math 1 is similar to the math portion on SAT 1, but I’d rather score higher on math 1 than have an alright math 2. Yes, I plan on applying as a premed major.

I don’t recall if GA Tech requires any SATII tests, but if they don’t I’d suggest that you don’t take Math 1 unless you can get a 750+ since it’s pretty much useless. If you’re ok in chemistry, you may be better off taking SATII chemistry since that’s one of the few subjects that GA Tech accepts credit on: [GT Catalog : Tests Scores : SAT II Subject Tests](http://www.catalog.gatech.edu/students/ugrad/geninfo/sat.php)

Georgia Tech only uses Ap and SatII scores for class credit, not in the admit process. If you get 2000+ I’d say your in. Most important things are your grades relative to the rigor of them.

Send in your AP scores! If you don’t, colleges will either think that you didn’t take the exams or that you scored a 1 on them. There is absolutely nothing wrong with a 3! (Plus they’re not used for admission)

To clarify, by ‘send in’ I mean to self-report them on your common app. Don’t actually send them in from college board until you register for classes at the college you choose to attend

Some of the other schools I’m looking at require a math and science SAT2, which is why I’m choosing to do SAT 2 Bio and Math 1. I just wish that Georgia tech accepted recommendations, because my counselor, ap Calc, and honors physics teachers are going to write some killer recommendations for me based on my character and passion. What are my chances right now? Is GATech a match or reach school for me? What about UGA?
