3.5 is kinda pushing it, tho if it is a really competeitive school like you say with deflation you’ll be cut some slack, your EC’s are excellent, but what ive seen from my friends and such even spectacular EC’s seldem make up for a defiency in GPA or SAT, they merely get you into GSP. 3.5 is good, but if NYU increases at the rate it has been, who knows.

If you’re confident about your ACT score, then you should be fine. I got into CAS this year (regular decision) with a 3.3/1460 and no amazing hook.

Many, many people have gotten into NYU with GPA’s near your’s. Though you are not a shoe-in, you do have a chance, and if you really want to go, I would recommend applying.

i got into NYU with a 3.0uw and a killer SAT. i got a university day invite too.

How about on a 100 scale? What would be average?

Also, what are the average class ranks for NYU acceptees?

that would be an 85/100. every year after my freshman year was ~90 though.

66% of NYU students were in the top 10 percent.

Actually… I just saw 70.8% are ranked in the top 10% <a href=“Undergraduate Admissions”>Undergraduate Admissions;

But, I do not think the average GPA out of 100 was 85? Does anybody else know?

oh, i meant that i had an 85/100 average.

princetonreview says the average HS gpa was 3.6, though they’re usually completely wrong.
