Will my ordinance violation have an affect on being admitted as an undergraduate?

Hi, I am going to be a high school senior this fall, meaning applications are coming up really soon. A few months ago I was prosecuted with a municipal ordinance violation for loitering, my friends and I went into an abandoned building to take pictures, and someone called the police. We did not break or destroy anything but we were ticketed for it. Will this have an affect on me being admitted into colleges? I am an extremely dedicated student, I have always had straight A’s, take tons of AP/IB Classes, extracurriculars, solid ACT score, the works. I have worked so hard I would hate for something like this to ruin my chances of getting into the colleges I have striven for.

(If it helps I am planning on applying to University of Wisconsin-Madison, Boston University and University of Minnesota as my top 3.)

This sort of a minor violation shouldn’t be a significant issue for you.

Frankly, knowing you’re motivated by curiosity, while still being responsible enough not to have damaged anything, might make you a more attractive prospect. Consider using the incident as the basis for an spplication essay.
