Will he get in?

By this time of year, your potential roommate should have a really good idea of his academy chances.

1500/2400 SAT? I don’t understand did he score a 1500 cr/m or 1500 overall? If that’s overall than he has no chance.

Overall M+CR+W
And thanks

He has great leadership activities, but the 1500/2400 SAT may be hard to overcome. With that said, I’ve met graduates from the AF Academy who had ~1100/1600 SAT scores, so it’s not impossible. I’m assuming he is not a recruited athlete or minority?

Oh wait… He got a 1540 (500 m, 540 cr, 500 w)

Unless he’s a super recruitable athlete, he’ll be your roommate in the fall.

Yeah I don’t think he has any chance. West Point is actually really competitive.

I know WestPoint is extremely competitive, but I wasn’t sure if West Point would overlook academics because of their emphasis on leadership. I also am not only asking about WestPoint, but AF and Navy as well.

I still say you will know far ahead of when you need to make a deposit. I do not think that the SAT scores are a deal breaker. Here, the kids would not get the nomination if they were not considered admissible.

He could actually get in to one of the prep schools. The students selected for that work on the SAT while taking leadership classes for a year.
