I was just wondering if my CC will know if I got in or not? because im most likely going to get rejected so I just plan on telling people I cancelled my application. I actually went through with it but I dont want anyone knowing. can counselors find out, or will the school be informed? what if you’re in the TAP program? will they find out too?

I can’t say for a fact, but my school knew that I applied to several schools in the UC system, and I never gave them that information. This means that it is all together possible and likely that the UCs probably inform the cc whether or not you’ve been accepted.

Since U.C’s have statfinder on individual colleges i assume they share information with the C.C as well i don’t know for sure though

I have also heard counselors saying that the CCC gets a certain number, like 20 spots for example, and the students at that CCC are competing for those spots.

Has anyone heard of this? If so, do you think the adcoms communicate with employess from the CCC.

Regarding the preset number of slots:

Did you truly hear a counselor say that or did you hear a student say that he/she heard a counselor say that?

Because that is entirely untrue. :)

i may be confused with another application, but i think i recall a checkbox or something in the uc application about letting your school know…and i’m also pretty sure it was on the application when applying from high school as well…

“I have also heard counselors saying that the CCC gets a certain number, like 20 spots for example, and the students at that CCC are competing for those spots.”

OMG I hope that is not true!!!

^
The above statement is completely false

Just a few random community college of different sizes you can clearly see the difference in admits
