Will No NHS Hurt a UPenn Applicant?

If you want a bit of background, you can check out my post http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/high-school-life/888942-nhs-inequality.html?highlight=nhs+inequality</a>. Essentially, my school has this absurd policy that full-year AP classes do not count toward a person’s first semester GPA (the one that is used for NHS). I have less credits counting towards my GPA because of my full-year AP, which means that I missed the NHS requirement by a tenth of a point. (Had my full-year AP counted, I would have exceeded the requirements). Does UPenn value NHS? Is it worth trying to get this policy changed?

Na…NHS really doesnt mean a whole lot. Don’t get me wrong…it probably helps 2 be president of the club. However, to a UPenn admissions officer, its probably just another club.

At my school being a part of NHS was more about being popular than anything else. If I recall correctly, I didn’t even put it on my app.

I don’t have it, and I was fine everywhere…

Penn only accepts trumpet players. This is the only qualification we look for. I don’t understand why you’re so concerned about NHS.

^ Like. Haha

Penn will look at your actual grades, not at what a school club thinks of your grades.

What you should really be asking is, will NHS hurt an UPenn applicant?
