I got accepted to NYU Tisch for Film ED1! It’s one of the greatest things that’s ever happened to me!

My grades 1st quarter were all A’s, except for one B+ in Pre-calc!
Unfortunately, I missed two weeks of school (once for chicken pox, once for flu). Plus I’m horrible at pre-calc.

Long story short, the second semester ended with me getting a C average for the second term in Pre-Calc - my first C ever.

My end of the semester grades are now all A’s or A+'s and a B- in Pre-Calc.

I know some people might think it’s silly for me to worry, but with my absence from school and a B- in a class, I’m worried I could get unaccepted. I’ve already paid the $500 downpayment on tuition, but going to NYU is a very surreal chance that people like me just don’t get, and I’m very nervous about loosing it.
How much do you think I should worry?

I would say to worry if you get a D or F.

I wouldn’t worry mainly because of the fact that you’re going to Tisch, so they don’t weight math classes as heavily. Also, one not as good grade senior year isn’t unacceptable. You should only start to worry if you get like 3 C’s, or a D. Even then, they would just send you a warning message. You’re final year grade is what really matters. They won’t flat out rescind you after 1st semester unless you got multiple D’s or lower.

Fireman’s right. Your admission won’t get rescinded unless something DRASTIC happens. They recognize how much stress kids are under from day 1 of high school to get into the best target/dream school and how inevitable it is for kids to relax a bit after acceptance.

As long as you don’t fail a course entirely or barely pass the majority of your classes, you’re fine. Also, even were that to happen, a simple email or phone call explaining the specifics of your circumstance (illness) would resolve all of it given that you’re in the most qualitative, not quantitative program here.
