<p>Ok, so I searched all around and most posts on here about being rescinded are someone with a 4.0 freaking out over a C. So I have a slightly different situation, and if anyone can give me some advice, that’d help a bunch.</p>

<li><p>First off, I was just accepted into IUP (Indiana University of Pennsylvania) for Deaf Education, which means I would teach to the deaf. They asked for my first quarter grades and it took me a few months because our school went on strike, but I just got my acceptance letter 2 weeks ago and I sent out my deposit the next day (IUP is one of only two schools in the state that has deaf ed). They sent me stuff about housing, meal plans, etc. So, being close to where I live and one of the only places that not only has my major but has a great campus and atmosphere, etc. - it was my first choice since the beginning of junior year. </p></li>
<li><p>Now, our 2nd quarter is ending in about a week. My grades are a few As, mostly Bs, and I think one C. But I have a 62 in Trig. Now, what happened was I was really struggling with the actual material (I was really trying hard & studying, not slacking off or anything). I went in after school and asked questions, payed attention, everything. But I would end up screwing myself over on these monstrous tests by doing something small incorrectly and screwing the whole thing over. Math was never my strong suit, I love to paint, read, write poetry, play music - that’s why I want to be a teacher. I know the whole “I’m never going to use this” is annoying for anyone to hear just because it’s usually said by kids who don’t want to study, but all this isn’t really what I’m asking about. Also as a side note, IUP isn’t really a great and wonderful school like ivy league or anything like that. It’s a pretty standard state school that falls right in the middle (a recommended high school gpa of 3.0, around a 1000 on the SATs; and also keep in mind that they accepted me even with a 60% D in CADD in my junior year and some bad grades in spanish back in sophomore or freshman year, but that’s an elective)</p></li>
<li><p>I went up 30% in my trig grade within the past few weeks. I completely turned around in my approach to it and went from a 37% to a 62%. I really understand what we’re doing now and I feel like my grade for the next two quarters can easily be an A or a B just because I have a clear head and the right mindset. Of course IUP wouldn’t know all the stuff I said above. Basically what it comes down to is this…</p></li>

<p>Say you’re IUP, looking at my grades and seeing the following for Trig:
1st quarter - 78%
(ACCEPTED)
2nd quarter - 62%
3rd quarter - 90%
4th quarter - 80%</p>
<p>and all my other classes’ grades are relatively high (actually higher than my first 3 years of highschool, 3.0 compared to 2.8); my grades this year look like I’m doing better this year but trig was just a mess for me the first half of the year. Any advice? I know writing a letter could help, but I dunno it seems kinda iffy. Especially if they see the D happened before the higher grades. Also my teacher would definitely not write me a letter explaining my effort and stuff. I know it seems weird since he allowed me stay after and because I’m not a jerk and treat him with respect and all - but the guy is always swamped with papers and always ALWAYS busy, every minute I see him. I know it seems dumb, but he always keeps everything all business, nothing personal. I doubt he even realized that my grade jumped up and that I was trying real hard. But seriously, it takes him weeks to grade one test. That’s why I never knew my grade and made everything real disorganized and frantic.</p>
<p>Anyways, if this is too long for you, would you still accept me with the trig grades above?</p>
