Will rapidly shaking your head cause brain damage?

I heard that this causes axons to tear, thus killing an unspecified amount of brain cells.

I don’t headbang or anything of the sort-- But I do nod my head to say yes. In addition, I now simultaneously feel a fear of accidentally shaking my head as well as an urge to try it.

So what’s the definitive answer?

Edit: I meant to say “kill brain cells.” Although maybe killing brain cells and brain damage are the same thing.

What, again?

If you really think you’ve been injured, go to a doctor. It sounds more like hypochondria to me, though.

By brain damage, do you mean things like repeatedly asking the same question over and over again?
