Will schools accept late SSAT scores?

Hi!! As the title says, I was wondering if schools will accept late SSAT scores? I just registered for the online SSAT but when I went to schedule it, the earliest date available is January 10. Since scores are released the Wednesday after the test, my scores wouldn’t be released until January 17, which is two days after the deadline. Are schools usually okay with submitting scores a few days late, or are they strict with the deadline?

I’ve taken the SSAT before but the scores didn’t come out great (theyre not bad but not amazing either), so I have a backup if I can’t submit my second scores late, but I would definitely prefer to earn a higher scores and submit those instead. Any advice on this is super helpful, thank you!!

I would email the schools explaining your situation, but what are your previous scores?

You really can’t generalize. Ask each school if they will accept a score two days late. If they won’t, decide if you will submit your score or apply test optional (if available). The score may be higher; that was our experience. It might not be. Have a plan for each school.

Thank you!! I will write an email to every school to ask. My previous scores were in the high 80s/low 90s zone, what about you?

I had an 85th percentille overall.

Thank you!! I will definitely think about that. In the email, do you think it would be bad to mention that this is my second time taking it? Because I think they might be curious about why I’m taking it so close to the deadline and not earlier.

Thats awesome!! I hope your applications are going well! I’m stressed right now because I haven’t started any of my essays yet and now I have this SSAT problem… I hope everything works out!!
Btw, are you applying for 9th grade?

Good luck! Yes, I’m applying for 9th grade! Wbu?
I’ve started my essays in the Summer but I’m not done yet, that’s why I’m not retaking the SSAT.

Yes, I’m also applying for 9th grade. It’s great that you started your essays early, I’m regretting not doing that now. Good luck to you too!!

I doubt it will be a problem. Just let them know your test date.

I will, thank you so much!!
