Will Standford accept international's requiring financial aid

My friend really really wants to go to Stanford. It’s her dream, but she obviously has to apply for financial aid and we live in Canada. I remember someone telling me that if your an international Stanford won’t even accept you if you put down that you require financial aid. Is this true. Should I warn my friend? She is absolutely brilliant and amazing and wil lprobably get into some amazing ivy league type school, but Standford is her dream and I don’t know if I should get her hopes up.

I think you should calmly inform her that Stanford does look at financial need for international applicants, unlike its peer ivys. However, if she is amazing, I personally believe that any school, including Stanford, will take her. Stanford does have a great financial status with all those fundraising and endowments.

Stanford does take into account of financial need when making decision, but saying Stanford won’t accept an international students with financial need is completely false. In fact, I’m an international student here at Stanford with financial aid. Please tell your friend not to worry about it.
