Will taking an Algebra 2 class make my application look weak?

I’m a Poli Sci. major and the only math class I can take this semester is Algebra 2 which is also not transferable.

I can take a placement test again and place into a higher and transferrable class next semester. I was just wondering if I should take Algebra 2, which is not transferable, or wait and take a higher math class next semester. My GPA will be well above a 3.7 and I am aiming for both private and UC schools (done with prereqs.)

Wait and retake the test (prep for it). Just make sure you have at least 12 credits, preferably 14.

Why didn’t you place into the higher level class this term?

Stick with Algebra 2. Focus on mastering the material so that you do indeed place into the higher-level class for next semester.

What do you mean by having at least 12 or 14 credits?

Are you talking about my overall credits or just total math credits?

You should be carrying a full academic load - usually 12 to 15 credits - this semester.
