I’m planning on transferring from a CSU to UC this year. I currently go to California State University, East Bay and I applied to every UC. My GPA was a little under a 3.8 when I applied. I applied to every school as either some form of computer engineering or computer science major. I’m currently knocking out my prereqs, however in my fall quarter I recieved, 1 A, 2 B’s, and a C+. The C+ was in calculus 1 and it was also the first C I have ever gotten. Calculus is also a prereq for my major. How bad does this hurt my chances of getting accepted into any of these schools?
badly, no chance of UCLA or Cal, low of UCSB and UCI, etc.
Its not great, thats for sure. However, if you have strong, ECs and essay, it may not be that bad.
How much did it drop your GPA?
When I applied my GPA was about a 3.8 and it dropped to about a 3.5 last quarter. I don’t have many ECS except that I’m in a club and I believe my essay was pretty good.
A good essay might help you, but for UCLA it is unlikely.
