1290 SAT, 31 ACT. I retook the ACT and am confident that I will get a 35+. Will the difference between the 1290 SAT and 35 (or 1580 equivalent) look bad or will the 35+ be considered alone?

I think they will definitely wonder how such a difference arose. Especially for Harvard, they will probably be surprised and take more investigatory steps. If you have other really excellent parts to your application, it shouldn’t matter too much, I guess, but otherwise, it might make them question some things.

Such differences are frustrating. I have a friend whose ACT was a 34, but her SAT A 1260 or something. I guess it’s a function of methods of thought-- and maybe flexibility.

I agree. Well-put.

A difference between SAT and ACT is not that bad. It is concievable that one could go from 31 to 34 or so on the ACT. The ACT is a very different test from the SAT, and though there is that conversion scale, they may just assume that you did very well on the science part or something. I got a 35 on ACT Math and 690 on SAT math…it happens

dont report the sat :P

They’ll see it when he reports his SAT II’s.
