Will the next time make too many?

I’m not sure if I should retake the ACT/SAT. Reach-type prospects are Rice, Caltech, MIT, USC, UCLA, Berkeley, Stanford. My scores on both are lower than expected:

SAT
12/2008: 680/730/760
06/2008: 720/710/660
01/2007: 600/600/570

ACT
Apr. 2009: 35/32/30/32
June 2008: 31/33//33/29
(Dec. 2006)

So I’ve taken it once each year (my parents made me, to gauge my learning basically). Would taking either a last time in June be excessive? Do scores from earlier years count in the total when considering whether I’m a neurotic test-taker?

For the SATs, the<a href=“College Board - SAT, AP, College Search and Admission Tools”>College Board - SAT, AP, College Search and Admission Tools Boardsays:
Quote:
The standard error of measurement (SEM) is approximately 30 points, indicating that, on average, if a test-taker takes the test again, there is a 68 percent chance that his or her second score will fall within a range 30 points above or below the first score.

This is a bump…
