Will these SAT II's hurt me?

Literature - 730 (660 on the first try, if that makes any difference)
U.S. History - 710

I read that since I got a 5 on my APUSH exam, the 710 could hurt me? Also, would the 730 hurt me?

Thanks for any advice!

As I said before, the USH will hurt if you reported you got a 5 on APUSH. the 730 for lit is solid enough to send in though. In my humble opinion. :-)

Thanks! But why will the 710 hurt if you got a 5 on APUSH? I’m kind of confused about that. I’ve heard that anything 700 and above would equal a 5 on the APUSH test anyway. (600-690 range would equal a 4, 500-590 would equal a 3, and so on.) :-/

Truthfully I would take everything I hear with a grain of salt. I’m currently an applicant, but I would not see how these scores would negatively affect you in any way. If you would like to spend the money to send them, do so. The worst that will happen is that they ignore them, and this is coming from somebody who sent in a 630 on Lit (bad day…). It’s not like an extra essay that hinders them, they’re just scores.

not necessarily. the sat2’s are not as in-depth or rigorous as AP tests, so receiving a 5 on an AP shows much more potential in that subject than even an 800 on a subject test. i’m not sure how it is with the USH sat2, but i’m assuming it’s the same. like wakeup says, they MAY just brush off the sat2 if you send it anyhow, but i think the 5 shows enough potential.

you are absolutely right. everything should be taken with a grain of salt, but eiffel did receive a 5 on the APUSH test.
