Will these things help me?

So I am graduating from high school very soon and am already eager to get my two years at CC done so I can go to UCLA or Berkeley. Or maybe UCSC or UCSD…

I am determined to get a gpa at CC too.

Will the fact that I am an Eagle Scout help me to transfer?

Will the having poli sci 101 and 102 (6 credits) already under my belt help lighten the workload?
My high school offered these classes (in conjunction with my cc) so I took them and already have 2 A’s on my CC transcript.

I still wish I had taken some AP classes :/

Anyway, how much of a benefit will my eagle scout and poli sci classes provide during my time at CC as I work towards a UC.

Having active involvement in the community will help you.
The top unis are looking for people with strong academics AND proven leadership potential.
being an eagle scout helps. Consider adding on an internship or relevant work experience as well to further your application, or taking on a leadership role in a club relevant to your chosen major. RELEVANT experience helps bolster your application.

This applies to getting jobs too.
Make a resume for yourself, preferably following the format here: [How to Write an Investment Banking Resume | Mergers & Inquisitions](http://www.mergersandinquisitions.com/investment-banking-resumes/)

try to have it reasonably full by the time you apply to Berkeley and UCLA. Quality counts. Go for BIG NAMES that are recognizable. Go for BIG accomplishments, high accomplishments/time is good. Go for RELEVANCE.

This is the advice I wish someone had told me at age 18. It helps with getting a job(or internship) too which is where I’m at now.

GPA and prereq completion matter a fair bit too. Check the prereqs for your intended major here: <a href=“Welcome to ASSIST”>Welcome to ASSIST;
if you have to, take summer sessions and sign up to take AP tests.
do as much as you can to finish your Major prereqs and IGETC(focus on areas that overlap or are hard to get into first, then lesser courses) and remember to finish your English and Math requirements EARLY as people are often rejected for putting them off until the last minute.

And when in doubt take the easiest class(es) you can, it’s NOT something you’ll regret, taking hardcore classes is foolish if it can be avoided. Factor in the difficulty of your professors. http://ratemyprofessors.com/</a> is a godsend. It’s not perfectly accurate but it helps.

Hey thanks a ton.

By the way that was another question I had: how do I use ratemyprofessors?

I signed up for priority registration at my CC so when the time comes to chose classes, how do I use this website? I mean, I can’t enroll in classes by bringing in a list of top professors to my counselor right?

you search for the class schedule at your school. usually it has the last name of the professor. go on ratemyprofessor and enter their last name and match it up with the school they are teaching at. Work hard!!! cccs are really impacted! don’t get stuck :)
