<p>I appleid to UF. Ok, at the very end of December I will have my Dec. 11th ACT composite score, but I’m not sure I will have the essay in time. I know the essay is required. If I send in just the composite before my writing scores come in, will they used a past ACT Essay score for admissions? Or will I not be able to use the December ACT at all? All standardized test scores are DUE DEC. 31.
I’m at school now and in a study hall type of period and can’t obviously call… and by the time I get home it will be to late to call.</p>
<p>It’s an interesting question. Given that the ACT offers the score choice option, you submit one set of scores to them. You cannot do a “Frankenstein” approach, where you cobble together scores from various test dates into a single score (ex. an English score from September with a Math score from October).</p>
<p>My sense is that if you submit your Dec. scores and the essay score isn’t ready, they will only have your composite score. Perhaps they will get the essay score during the course of deliberations and take it into account.</p>
<p>You should contact the ACT directly and ask them.</p>

<p>You only need to send one writing score. That being said, if you want to be certain that schools will recieve an official writing score from you, you need to send the entire previous ACT to the school, which costs an extra $10.</p>
