Will they even accept appeals with a waitlist this year?

My friend, who didn’t get in, is thinking about appealing. But I told her with the waitlist that they probably wouldn’t accept appeals this year. Anyone know for sure?

They’ll probably still accept appeals, but the bar is going to be even higher than it already was. So unless he has very important new information, it’s probably not worth the trouble.

Well, I’m assuming that the waitlist contains all the borderline applicants so that means that if you were rejected, you didn’t make the cut for sure. Small bits/updates on your appeal would probably not shift the admissions committee consequently. Unless you have really strong, new information to present, I’d say don’t bother.

For your appeal to be considered, you must prove that you are a much stronger candidate than what was presented in your application. Specifically, you must present new and compelling information that was not previously available to the admissions office.

If such new and compelling information exists, your friend may very well be reconsidered on appeal.
