Will they know? - cancelling the test run!

Hi there,

I have spent 5 days studying for the Nov 5 SAT test. I know this is not enough, but I want to just go for it to see how I do in comparison to the practice tests and in order to get used to the test center etc.
I also want to do this so I can have an essay graded.

My real attempt at acing the test will be in december.

I am applying to Stanford and they specify that they want you to send them the results of all the tests you took.

 • Now, how does it work with canceling?

I know that if you cancel before the test date, nothing happens. But how much time to cancel have you got after having sat for it?

Is it possible to receive your score and then still cancel without having to report it?

If I cannot receive scores and then still cancel without having to report the scores to Stanford, should I just leave out a few sections so my November scores are ridiculously low and the uni will see I obviously was just having a practice run ??

Thank you for your view on this.

Well what if you dont send your November scores anywhere ( the four free ones ) and then use Score Choice?

Stanford requires you to send all scores. You can cancel a test only up until about a week before the scores come out so there is no way you can learn your score and then cancel. Thus, if you take test and get bad score you will have to send it to Stanford. It is not a good idea to go and do purposefully bad on some sections. One thing that will likely happen if you do that in Nov and then do much better in Dec is that CB will put a hold on your tests while investigating whether there was any monkey business and send nothing to Stanford possibly for a month or more after your Dec scores come out, with the result that you may not even get the score to it in time.

thanks a lot drusba =)
that helped
