nyu is supposed to be a very diverse unique school but i’m average at best. will i still get in?

Your scores aren’t bad, but just with those, no.
Essays, ECs, leadership, interview, AP scores, course rigor…etc all play a crucial part of your app

SATs are great. GPA is average. Just get an EC or two and you’re good.

…uh… you’re by no means average. You might think you are if you go to an absurdly overachieving high school like I do, but seriously, you’re not average. You’re above average when you compare yourself to the average NYU applicant. I’d say you’re in barring any unforeseen GPA disasters.

are u saying his gpa us low justspice?

Kids from my daughters school that applied RDsome already got into LSP and they had 3.8 gpas. They didn’t ask for LSP. Looks like the stats this year of RD applicants is going to be very high. My daughter did not get the LSP letter so we are still waiting.

@stalkermama Good luck to your daughter!!! may i ask what her stats were???

99%ile SAT is not average. This annoys me.

i’m sorry if i sound annoying. i meant that my gpa was average.

I got in with a 3.4 GPA and 2190 SAT/32 ACT. However, I had strong ECs, essays, and recs, which probably helped. I say that if you write good essays, pick the right teachers to recommend you, and expand/deepen your EC involvement, you’ll be fine.

@paperbackhead do you mind telling me what you extracurriculars were? thank you!
