Will this be an issue for NYU Tisch

I got accepted into a program where you go to college and high school at the same time. I want to go because they have a good music programming. I'll be enrolling in the music engineering program, because I want to get into the Clive Davis program as a performance major. One issue is that I took a placement test for math and it suggests I should be in Pre Algebra. I suck at math. But I already have my credits for math(including algebra), but according to the school rules I have to go back and do it. Since the school isn't about credits, it's about mastering the skill. Will this be an issue for academics at NYU?

E-mail one of the advisors from NYU. You can find their emails on the website and they're all very friendly. :)
