Will this effect my application?

I am currently in 7th grade, and will be applying to boarding school for 9th grade. One of my main activities is dance - I take 7 classes per week and am on a competition dance team. The problem is, I have lost my passion for dance and while I still want to take 3 or 4 classes in the fall, I won’t be doing competition anymore or dancing at the intense level I do now. I wanted to clear my schedule a little bit, too, so that I could take photography classes (something I’ve always wanted to do, but never had time) and acting lessons on the weekends (another thing I’ve never had the chance to do). I also want to be able to volunteer at several different places. All of these things I have wanted to do for a long time, so don’t worry - I’m not doing them to look good for applications. The problem is, since dancing has been my main activity for such a long time, will it effect my application to do it less? I’m going to limit my classes no matter what, but I’m just curious. Thanks so much!

I’m new to applications actually but I’d say no. You could explain that while dancing has brought so much to your life, it has also helped you see there is a lot more out there you’d like to try. (:

Uhm, while I don’t do dance, I was actually thinking about doing some photography classes and acting in plays and stuff. Weird! I also am going to do volunteer hours over the summer and I’m going to eighth grade after summer and then applying to ninth grade boarding school :)
