Will this sound okay an on application?

I’m doing a late rolling admissions on a school and one of the questions is asking to get to know you. Would it be unproffessional to add in a few adjectives your friends describe you as, the fact that you’re a vegan, you’re favorite colors and that you like to smile in the first two sentences?
Then I go on talking about my favorite activities and the insturments I play, etc.
Does that sound bad? My parents think it sounds unprofessional…
I want to come off as a happy, casual person, not an overly serious student.

EDIT: sorry the title should be “Will this sound okay ON AN application?”

I think that is an appropriate response. The admissions office want to learn about you. It is perfectly okay to note adjectives or characteristics that people have shared with you. This is for boarding school, not a job or a career, therefore it is okay to be casual and not professional.

I agree! That little bit makes me want to get to know you - I’d think the admissions officers would feel the same way!
