Will UCLA rescind my offer of admission?

@ivelosthope‌ I submitted my changes on 4/19 and I’m still waiting! You are not alone. I had received a non-passing grade in one of my classes that is not major dependent (under Assist) and am retaking it to replace the grade. The confirmation email they sent says that we will get a response within 15 working days, so I think I will hear latest by next friday.

@Ivelosthope Thanks! I just want to put my situation into context. I had been taking 32 semester units before dropping 12 of them, so when you the proportion of units I dropped, to the amount I was originally taking, they weren’t that much. Now If I had been taking 13 units and dropped 12, then I might have been in trouble.

@Cayton Thanks! That was a huge relief. Yeah, I’m ok for UCLA, but I pretty much screwed when I start applying to graduate school.

@2014drew‌ the wait feels like forever. You have it worse than me though, goodness! To be left hanging since the 19th! Best of luck to you.

@ivelosthope @2014drew I’ve submitted my changes on Wednesday and I got a response today, Friday. It only took them two days.

I submitted my change for UCLA over the weekend for a course drop, got a response about Wednesday, admissions message came back a little over 24 hours later. I think it’s just case-by-case. Mine was rather simple.

Still haven’t heard back from UCB. Still trying to decide between them.

When I called admissions last week, they said the updates are reviewed by the same person/ people who reviewed your initial app. So I think the variations of time is more about the reviewer and less about the applicant.

So if Bugs Bunny reviewed your original app, you’re waiting for Bugs to get back to you. So if Bugs either slammed or a slacker then you wait longer.

@2016Candles‌ well that’s good to hear I think :D, I’m hoping s/he still feels the same way about me.

@ivelosthope‌ yeah it’s been a nail biting experience the past two weeks, but I’m over it now. Whatever happens happens and life goes on :)

so what did you guys say when informing UCLA of the dropped course? Unfortunately I have dropped a class that I feel I don’t need since I had fallen behind due to my other classes. Did you guys say something like " I wasn’t going to pass the class so I dropped it"?

@RamonaFalls yes i put I wasnt going to pass so i dropped it

By the way, good news guys! It’s become a lot less likely(So far as I can tell, anyway) that I’ll get 2 or more C grades this semester.

But I still want to drop one of my classes. I don’t need it and don’t much care for the curriculum. I’m not sure if UCLA will like these reasons for dropping the class, though.

@Cayton thats great!

I dropped my class and just found out my crazy professor will be giving a true/false final!! Iol i think its because i talked to another professor about it. I think he confronted him about it. My other processor tried to convince me not to drop crazy professor and now i figured it was because he had talked him into going easier on us. Its the first time crazy professor is giving a scantron test in 20 years

Just my luck i had already dropped it. Lol

@sonic2‌3

Jesus Christ, lol. 20 years? You have some pretty weird luck. The important thing is that you’re still going to UCLA.

And look at it this way: you’ve made the lives of 20~40 other students much easier because you talked to a decent professor who subsequently persuaded your former history professor to make things just a little bit easier.

I just submitted the change that I dropped a class and my original decision letter is still there. I thought it was supposed to go away or something.

@RamonaFalls‌ it took mine 4 days to go away.

@Cayton when is your drop deadline? I now wish I dropped some courses I didn’t need that will drag my GPA down, but I was too scared of risking it & now i’ve already sent in my update!

@ivelosthope‌

May 18th.

So I STILL haven’t heard anything from my update that I sent on 4/19… Has anyone been rescinded yet or has anyone heard anything back from UCLA after waiting as long as I have?

@babyberger I still haven’t heard back, I’ve been waiting since 4/25. I’m going to give them a call tomorrow to see what’s going on.

@babybergur What major did you apply as? If it was an impacted major, then it is going to probably take a while. I

I applied as a life sci major (physiological science)… why does it take longer if it’s impacted? @CollegeDropout1‌
