Will UCLA rescind my offer of admission?

@lindyk8‌ thank you :)

I created this thread two months ago thinking that I might get 2 C’s and 2 B’s or something like that in my final semester, which could cause my admission to be rescinded. That, naturally, unsettled me and made me anxious to get this semester over with and to try and get the best grades I could.

With that said, I’ve just received my grades from all my professors…3 A’s and one B! Much better than I expected. I won’t have my offer of admission rescinded after all!

I’ll see you guys in the Fall!!!

Yes you Can! >:D<

Hi @Cayton,

I’m in a similar situation you were in last year. I’ve completed all my sociology major pre reqs and am also tap certified. I’m currently taking 5 classes and it is possible that worst case scenario I may get 2 C’s, 1 B, and 2 A’s. I am not be getting any C’s in major prep courses. Do you think that I could have my offer rescinded? I would appreciate anyone’s insight on this. Thanks!

@Melissa1995
Most likely not. UCLA cuts a lot of slack for TAP-certified applicants from what I’ve seen, and I saw a lot of people who weren’t TAP-certified not getting their admission offers rescinded because of a couple of C’s in nonmajor courses.

My teachers are telling me my average grade in their courses combining 1st and 2nd semester. Is that what UCLA look at when deciding how many A or B or C I got?

@janu freshman or transfer?

freshman.

@janu why are you posting in the transfer thread then?

I am not sure if this is true for transfer too, but thought just to share it anyway. From UCLA FAQ website-

Q: I RECEIVED A D GRADE IN THE FALL SEMESTER … OR…
I AM THINKING OF DROPPING A CLASS….

A: If the course schedule you gave us on your application changes, if you receive any grade lower than C, or if your senior year unweighted GPA drops below 3.0, you should notify us right away. We will review these changes in the context of your overall record and let you know whether they affect your admission. You may be required to take additional classes in the summer, or in some cases, your offer of admission can be withdrawn. Generally, the sooner you let us know of changes, the more options you will have.

I just got accepted by UCLA as a pre-psych major. On my application, I reported that I would take chem 10 (a major prereq) during this quarter (spring.) However, I didn’t do that because the class was full and I reported that I will instead take it this summer. When I called admissions, they said this will affect my decision because it makes me less competitive and they’ll have to review my application again. Has anyone else gone through anything similar? Do you think they’ll rescind my decision? I’m very worried >.<

Somewhat old thread… The closest issue I had was reporting my grade change on my withdrawal about a month ago. I updated my TAU and emailed UCLA and they emailed me back with acknowledgement and would review. I got acceptance post email.

At this point, update the TAU and email admissions, taking heed of what they told you.
Maybe see if you can come to an agreement before SIRing, I wouldn’t want you to be out of luck.

@stanx89 when i got the call for the extravaganza they said i could stay over night in a dorm.

Hey guys! I could really use some of your guys opinions! I got accepted into UCLA as a Pre sociology major and I have all my pre requisites and GEs done with a GPA of 3.69. However, I just took my Micro-Economics final today and I think I totally failed it Dx I’m probably going to get a D. But I am expecting to be getting three A’s from my other classes. I did the calculation and my GPA is expected to drop down to 3.63. I checked on assist.org and didn’t see anything about Micro economics being a requirement for my major, but I know that I have to still report any D’s I get to the admission. Do you guys think that I have my admission revoked to UCLA?
