Will UCLA rescind my offer of admission?

UCLA has received all my transcripts. I ordered my last transcripts on the 16th. The same day, I asked for a rush on my IGETC, they told they can not do a rush on the IGETC cert. So, I basically ordered 2 transcripts. 1 rush that will not have a IGETC stamp of approval, and 1 regular process that will show my IGETC is complete.

It will take 7-10 business days until they mail it out(My IGETC cert). So, that means, by the earliest it will be the 28th, the latest, June 2nd. Damn that memorial day holiday that takes away a business day away from me. Is this going to be an issue? Only reason I ask, UCLA wants transcripts and docs by June1st, however, when I check here on the UC counselors memo, it states they want IGETC documents by July 15th. But it also states all official transcripts by July 1st. This for the entire UC system. This is different from what UCLA is saying, that official transcripts need to come in by June 1st. Thanks in advance.

<a href=“University of California Counselors”>University of California Counselors;

there’s a very important part you forgot to read

"All UC campuses will allow additional time for the receipt of required transcripts, and will not disadvantage students due to the inability of the school to meet this deadline. "

So I think telling them that you already requested them should be enough to get some leniency.

Yeah, I figured it wasn’t going to be much of an issue, they have all of my transcripts now. Nothing is missing, the they will get my IGETC cert within the next week or 2(at the latest). It will be mailed out on the 28th at the earliest, or the latest on the 2nd. LAMC is normally quick with transcripts, they sent the rush one that following Monday, by Friday night UCLA had marked it down as received.

I’m not sure if someone’s posted this before…(and I’m sorry if someone has) but does anyone else have this message at the bottom of their provisional contract?

“Again, you must notify our office immediately of any withdrawals, incomplete grades, drop in academic performance (including 2 or more C grades, any D and/or F grades, any C grades in major preparatory courses), or other changes to your class schedule.”

Does this means having 2 C’s is bad and a possible reason to have the admission revoked?

I think that message is fairly standard. SO, if you received 2 Cs, then you need to let them know asap. None of us can tell you if you’ll be rescinded. It all depends on what the courses are, relevance to your major, and what the rest of your transcript looks like.

Hi everyone I need help. So the thing is I got in to UCLA as an anthropology major bs. and I was taking 3 courses Physics 37, Calculus 2, and Biology 6. I decided to drop physics 37 and I reported it to UCLA and they said it was ok. Latley I had some health and family issues that bothered me and now the semester is ending and Biology 6 is Ok I am going to pass this class with an A. However Calculus 2 I feel like I am going to get a D. What should I do. This is going to be the second time that I have to report my grades. should i explain to them the health and family issues that I had keeping me down. Help I am freaking out.

@collegeman18,

E-mail your Calc professor and see if there’s any extra credit possible to ensure you pass. Explain to them your situation.

Wait for your grades to be posted before you notify UCLA. If you do get a D, report it and hope for the best. I wouldn’t use the family/health reason mainly because I imagine that’s what everyone says. Not saying you are lying or anything though. If you do mention the health thing make sure you’d have medical documentation in case they ask for it.

Good luck fellow Anthro major!

I got two C’s and two A’s this semester, resulting in a 3.0 and the two A’s are in major prep course while the two C’s are in random classes. I think I am fine but I still don’t know. I just submitted my academic thingy this morning. What do you guys think? You could say I had a well-written reason.

@nechronix‌ What was your reason? I jotted down my reason so since the submission I’ve been feeling extremely worried… I should have explained more.

I’m kind of in the same boat, though I’m a high school senior. I’ll probably end this semester with mostly Bs, but I might end a class with a C. I’m trying to get another grade up to an A to compensate, but assuming I end up with that one C, my GPA will fall under a 3.0. Is that rescission-worthy? I’m pretty worried, though it’s not because I have bad test grades or anything, but more because I had a lot of missing work I didn’t get the chance to make up because of absences.

Guys I’m freaking out… I got a C in a major prep course (not required to transfer but I’d have to take somewhere down the line regardless) and 2 B’s in my other classes (one I took for fun and another an upper division course that LA accepts). I was expecting a B but I guess I royally screwed up the final. My GPA dropped from 3.6 to 3.4. I’ll report it once I hear back from my professor but I’m still worried. Do you think I’ll be rescinded?

@nechronix‌

I think you’ll be fine.

@AtticLights‌

Hmm. It could be a problem, but the GPA drop isn’t too severe, so you might not be rescinded.

@Cayton‌ thanks man, hopefully everything will turn out okay…

@AtticLights‌

How many C’s did you get or expect to get this semester? If it’s only one and it’s in the major prep course, it’s not something you have to report, unless your admission contract states otherwise. Did it say that you had to get at least a B in your major prep course?

@atticlights, you’ll be fine. They’re only going to rescind someone who gets like all C’s or multiple D’s/F’s. You definitely need to report if you got a C in a major prep class.

@Cayton‌ it’s the only class I got a C in. I just assumed I’d have to report it since it’s a major prep course

“Again, you must notify our office immediately of any withdrawals, incomplete grades, drop in academic performance (including 2 or more C grades, any D and/or F grades, any C grades in major preparatory courses), or other changes to your class schedule.”

@Zalrons‌ thanks, I hope I’m freaking out over nothing :l

@atticlights, no problem. And yeah, I wouldn’t worry at all. Just explain your situation and take responsibility for not preparing yourself to perform to the best of your abilities so it doesn’t happen at UCLA. See ya next fall :smiley:

Like @Zalrons, I’m optimistic about your situation. It could be a whole lot worse. Still, you’ll have to report that C in a major prep course.

@Zalrons‌ @Cayton‌ thanks guys, you made me feel a lot better :slight_smile: and I will be reporting it for sure

@AtticLights‌ based on how it’s gone with everyone else on this site in similar circumstances, you’ll be fine.
